Mirek Topolánek

Mirek Topolánek graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Univerity of Technology in Brno, majoring in Instrumentation, Control and Automation Technology. In the years 1991-2003 he was the Executive Director and later Chairman of the Board of Directors at VAE, in the years 2010-2016 he was the CEO of VAE Controls Group. From 2002-2010 he was leader of Civic Democratic Party (ODS), from 2006-2009 Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, and in 2009 President of the Council of the European Union. In the years 2011-2018 he was and since 2022 he is again the Chairman of the Executive Board of the District Heating Association of the Czech Republic. Since 2014 he has been the Director of International Development and Public Affairs at the Slovak company Eustream. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Slovak company SES Tlmače and a consultant of EP Industries in the framework of decarbonisation.
