Graduate of the University of Economics in Prague. He worked in various positions in credit risk management and corporate banking, first at Bank Austria Creditanstalt and later in the management of Česká spořitelna, a.s. (Erste Group) until 2006. In 2006, he became 1st Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors and Deputy CEO, and later Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Erste Bank in Ukraine. In 2010, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Slovak Savings Bank. In 2015, Jozef Síkela was appointed to the Board of Directors of Erste Group Bank AG. From 2017 to 2019, he was intensively involved in the development programme for SME banking across the Erste Group. In December 2021, he was appointed Minister of Industry and Trade.
